CBS is slated to air a new interview with Kim Kardashian on Sunday in a 60 Minutes episode dedicated to social media influencers. The interview was taped prior to Kim’s Oct. 2 robbery in Paris, where a group of men made away with $10 million worth of jewelry. On Friday, CBS released a clip from Kim’s interview with Bill Whitaker, who asked what it’s like to be so exposed and successful at the same time. “There are pitfalls, lack of privacy, loss of privacy, and that’s not for everyone,” she says. “For me, I can handle it.” At one point, Kim is asked if the she would exist without social media: “Not in this way. I totally attribute my career to social media.”
Kim has been on a social media blackout since the robbery. Her website and app are currently being run by friends, family, and her personal assistant. Kim’s Instagram and Twitter accounts have not been updated in nearly three weeks. People previously reported that Kim blamed herself for the robbery because of how frequently she used social media. Kim shared this photo of what appears to be her stolen $4 million ring from Kanye West, which was given to her earlier this year after his Adidas deal, three days before the robbery.
